camping
Jeremy and I were talking about how we missed out on camping and the mountains this summer, when we realized summer is not over and how hard could it be camping with a newborn. They just sleep and eat right? We went to Golden Gate Canyon State Park just an hour away and borrowed Jeremy's parent's pop up camper. It was beautiful and it felt so good to escape to the mountains, but so not a good idea with a colicky newborn. I also didn't take into consideration that both kids got their vaccinations right before we left. Ian was so fussy, screaming the whole time (even when eating) unless he was sleeping. Poor little guy. The second day went much better. Ian enjoyed sitting in his bouncer and watching the aspen leaves.
Unfortunately, these pictures are on the memory card I chopped. They were of some beautiful scenery and blurry ones of Chloe dodging the camera.

2 months and 2 years
We had a big Dr. visit today for both kiddos. So here are some stats and insights to my life right now with a 2month old and 2year old.
Chloe 25.1 lbs 28%, height 32 in 8%.
Ian 12.5 lbs 77%, height 23 in 61%. He is healthy and growing like crazy.
It has been a hard couple of months, especially this last one. From discovering I can't eat any dairy products, to figuring out how to divide my time/love between two children to bouncing a very fussy baby constantly who refuses to sleep more then a 3 hour stretch at night. It has been exhausting. Part of me can't wait for this stage to pass, but then it also makes me sad he is already 2 months old. It goes by so fast! It is amazing how fast days go by with a newborn, yet not much is getting done. It has been hard for me to learn to overlook the piles of crumbs and dust on the floor, the overflowing laundry basket, and remembering my main job of loving on these two wonderful little kiddos. It is a hard balance to find and I don't have it yet.
It is exhausting but there are plenty of sweet little moments the make my cup runneth over. Ian has really started to laugh and coo. So sweet!! I love it when he looks at me and smiles, his eyes water and he lets out a little laugh.

living with a 2 year old (at least mine)
Two!!! I can't believe it. I feel so blessed to be her momma. Even though she has her days, I am enjoying this stage so much. It is amazing to hear her putting words together, using her imagination, and mimic things that we do, and to see more of her personality come out. She is so sensitive and empathetic. She can not watch America's funniest home videos, to her people getting hurt just isn't funny. If she's sees a kid crying she has to go over and make sure they are o.k. Such a sweetie! She's been having a hard time sharing us with Ian but she is so sweet to him. She is always concerned when he cries and will sing to him or rock him. Lately she has been calling me Sarah, where do they get this stuff.
This was the sweetest moment ever. I was doing dishes in the kitchen when Ian woke up in his swing. Before I could dry my hands, Chloe had grabbed this small ziploc vaccum and ran to his aide. Such a sweetie! We have used many a things for background noise to calm our little one but not this, she's a smarty.

night out
This weekend Jeremy and I went to a friends wedding while my parents, who were in town for Chloe's' birthday party, watched BOTH kiddos for us. It was so nice and so different leaving this time then it was from the first time we left Chloe. Too bad we were both exhausted and opted to come home before the even cut the cake. Sleep means way more than cake these days!
birthday party
This Friday we celebrated Chloe's 2nd birthday!! We had a few of her friends over for some swimming and bubble fun in our backyard. It was a good time and so fun to see Chloe enjoy
her party and friends.
she wasn't sure about the singing happy birthday part
